Our Astounding Footballers
A huge, hearty well done to our girls' football team who competed so brilliantly at the Girls' Football Borough Final at Powerleague on Tuesday. Despite the cold, damp weather everyone gave 100% on the pitch and we all had a great day.
After a useful coaching session in the morning, the team played a series of matches through the rest of the day, scoring enough points to make it through to an exciting semi-final, which they coasted through, and a final match against Woodley, who played superbly and eventually won the competition. Our girls were thrilled to take the second place spot, and are determined to come back next year and go one better!
Thank you and well done once again to all the players who came along to represent St John's - you all behaved and competed brilliantly and it was a pleasure to take you along.
Thank you also to the competition organisers, and to the parents who were able to help with lifts or come along to show their support. Big thanks also, of course, to our coaches, Clayton and Kelly, both of whom have done lots of hard work with the team over the last few months.
Just a reminder that our girls' football club is open to ALL girls from Year 3 to Year 6 and happens after school every Monday, from 3:15 to 4:30. Subs are £2 per session. We're setting up more matches against other Stockport schools for the new year, so let's try and get even more of our girls involved in football at school.

Mount Kilimanjaro is both the tallest mountain on the African continent and the highest free standing mountain in the world
Typically only 15% of climbers at any given time succeed with their summit attempt of Kilimanjaro
The oldest person to successfully reach Uhuru Peak was Valtee Daniel aged 87 years
On Uhuru Peak there is a wooden box containing a book in which almost every individual to reach the summit has recorded their impressions of the world from the highest point on the African continent.
The minimum age limit set by the National park Authorities for trekking to Uhuru is 12 years old

Mr Stock showed us how to use gardening tools like hoes, shovels and forks. We were putting air into the soil by turning it over and making it healthy.
Mrs Whillance showed us how to look after the plants and care for them.We planted marigold's, dizzy lizzy's and fuchsia's now we have planted them in the flower bed and I think it looks really good
